More Sleep Talk From Wendi

This morning I got up before Wendi and got the kids ready for the day. I came back in to wake Wendi up before I left for work. The following conversation ensued:

Peter: "I took care of the kids, I'm leaving for work, love you"
Wendi: (not completely awake) "Not anyone famous though"
Peter: "What?"
Wendi: "Not like Phyllis"
Peter: "No I guess not, just the kids not Phyllis or anyone famous"
Wendi: "Oh"
Peter: "Okay, love you"

I'm not the only one who talks in their sleep

I know that title is not correct grammar but it's been a long week and I just don't care.

This morning I got up before Wendi to get ready for work, as I was getting dressed she said,
Wendi: "Tread on me"
Peter: "What babe?"
Wendi: "Tread on me"
Peter: "Okay... Well I'm leaving for work"
Wendi: "Okay, sweet dreams"
Peter: (laughing)"Love ya, bye"

The night before I was watching TV in bed and Wendi was sleeping. Something on the TV woke her up and she rolled over and said,
Wendi: "Is this my channel?"
Peter: "No, this is cartoon network"
Wendi: "Yeah, but is this my channel?"
Peter: "I don't think you have a channel, what is your channel?"
Wendi: "I'm just asking if this is my channel, that's all"
Peter: "Okay, this is your channel then."
Wendi: "Okay"

I'm just glad I'm not the only one in the family with a sleep disorder. Strike that, Melly already walks and talks in her sleep so I guess we've successfully passed our defects on to another generation.

Threes

Well if I were really as good as that last post suggested I would have posted something to my beautiful wife on our anniversary. But here it is a day later and I'm finally getting around putting a post up. That in and of itself shows who's the better half of this partnership.

These three years have flown by. We've moved three times, owned three cars, you take care of three kids (two small and one big) and over all that time we've only had three fights. Okay well maybe we've had a few more than three fights but we've always been able to work things out.

So on our third anniversary I wanted to list here three reasons I love you.

1) Your happy smile. Nothing brightens a difficult day more than to come home and see your smile. When I get tired, when life gets rough all I need to see is that smile and those dimples and my cares seem to melt away. Just knowing that you're happy to see me makes everything I do seem worthwhile. Your smile and dimples are so cute and that's why I love you.

2) Your dedication to family. It seems you spend all your time taking care of one of us kids. Either it's feeding time or pooping time or playtime but rarely is it mommy time. Your ties to your siblings are incredibly strong, and I hope that I can stay that close with my brothers and sisters over time. It's easy to see that nothing means more to you in the world than your family and that's why I love you.

3) You are the other half of me. I am no longer just me, you are no longer just you. We are forever Wendi and Peter, Peter Pan and Wendi Darling. Everyday we become more and more inseparable. I don't know what I would do without you. You are a major part of every aspect of my life. Wendi you are everything to me and that is why I love you.

Three Short Years

Who knew that in just three short years we would go from just the two of us to four.

It's amazing how fast time goes by. I love you so much, Peter. I am so glad that I get to spend eternity with you. In the time we've been married we've had two kids, moved four times, once to Alaska, we were sealed in the temple for eternity, and now we're trying to buy a house (that is if it EVER goes through).

Thank you so much for giving me two of the most beautiful kids on the planet. Thank you for loving us even when I make it so difficult. Thank you for providing for us and allowing me and making it possible for me to stay home with the kids. I am so proud of you, for all the things that you have done. You will be graduating soon and we are so excited to be able to spend more time with you, but understand why you can't right now.

Peter, I don't think you could be a better father or husband. We look forward to you coming home everyday. Melynn can hardly bare the anticipation, she talks about daddy for at least an hour before you get home and will not let you out of her sight once you are. Alex will do everything in his power to get to you when he first sees you. He more often than not tries to climb out of my arms and over my shoulder to get to you. It's so cute how you are with them and the way you light up when you arrive home and those two sweet little faces smile up at you with excitement. Nothing else matters when we are around, which can be hard sometimes when you need to do homework.

I love you so much and I thank Heavenly Father every day that I get to be married to the most wonderful man. You make me laugh at the strangest things, my favorite is when you say something bazaar in your sleep. You make everything better when I'm having a hard day with the kids. You comfort me when I'm sad. You listen when I just need to talk. I love you so much. I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you for the last three years and I am excited for 70 more on this earth. And forever after that...As long as you are your same weird self.

Also Thank you David and Julie for raising such an honorable man. Someone so kind and loving. Someone who treats me with respect and as his equal. Who is greatful for me. And shows me everyday how much he loves me. Thanks for raising him in the gospel and teaching him about the importance of the priesthood and temple marriage. David, thank you for making him just as crazy and weird as you are. I think that's what I love most about him. I never know what will happen next. Thank you giving him the gene to find where we are going, when the only clue that we have is to look for the big oddly shaped rock on the side of the road with a stick sitting on top. I've never met a smarter person and it's all because of you. Thank you and I love you for Peter.

Her are a few pictures of our wedding just for good measure.

I had to add this one for good measure, because this is exactly how my family really is. Poor Keith... ha ha yeah right as if he doesn't ask for it.

Some pictures of our Honeymoon.

Holy Crap she looks like me!

I just had a realization that Melynn looks like me. Now let me explain. I know that All of you think that Melynn looks like me, but I have never seen it...until tonight when I took a picture of her. When I looked at it I thought, "that looks just like me when I was a little girl". I showed Peter and he agreed. What do all of you think?

I realize I'm not looking at the camera and I'm a few years older but I can see it a lot in this picture.

P.S. You will see this picture again.

What We've Been Doing

I love those big beautiful brown eyes. What a cutie!

I took this picture a few weeks ago. I think he's starting to get tired.

Yesterday I was smiling and squinting my eyes at Alex and he was responding by doing the same thing. I tried to get him to do it on camera but he wouldn't do it, but I did manage to get a picture of it. Every time we look at it, it make us laugh hysterically.

A few weeks ago my Sister-in-law and I took the kids to The Petting Zoo at Thanksgiving Point here are some of the things that we saw.

On the big version of the photo you can see that Melly weighs somewhere between 5 baby lambs and a goat. If you squint you can see that she weighs about 100 units. I know those can't be pounds, maybe grams, no wait that's what my lunch weighed. I guess she just weighs 106. On a side note how crappy would your day be if you got on that scale and it pointed to a sow and her litter of piglets. Way to boost someone's self esteem Thanksgiving Point!

We haul Alex along on all these adventures and he is such a trooper. He looks so tired and I'm sure he is so bored.

One of the workers was nice enough to get out one of the bunnies so that Melly could see it up close and pet it. Melly had a different idea, as soon as the bunny was within range she started to reach for it and asked, "Take it?" We had to jump in and intervene.

I love the goats, they're so cute. Melly wasn't so sure about this one. I think she thought it was going to eat her dress. Earlier a cow licked her face and it wierded her out and I think that's why she was freaked out.

This baby goat was so small it could fit through the fences between the stalls. It followed us all the way down the line as we walked. It was so cute.

If I was so miserable with just one baby in my belly I can't imagine what this poor goat is feeling. There's gotta be like 6 babies in there, she's so big. Goats don't give birth to 6 really only 1 or 2, but she is huge.

This plastic sheep had it's eyes painted black. When Melly saw it she looked at me and said, "aseep(asleep)mommy"

Ya know those pictures where some weird guy is making a face in the background? Well apparently Alex decided to be that guy and reveal to the world that he is bat boy.

We went to the children's fair at onion days. Melly got a butterfly painted on her face and her hair colored pink. She completely loved it. She looks like a little rocker.

Alex also got his face painted. I requested an axe, (because his nick name is Ax) but apparently the girl had no experience drawing axes and she couldn't figure out how to draw it so Alex had to settle for a snake.

The other day she got up in the morning and decided to get herself dressed before coming in to wake us up. This is what we saw.

Last night at 2:00 am Melly decided it was time to get up for the day. Look at those two bright eyed girls. She was awake for 2 hours and it still didn't stop her from waking up at her normal time. I was not happy.

Dinosaurs & Ducks...OH MY!

Peter started back at UVU yesterday and his schedule is going to be kind of difficult. He will be working full time during the day and going to school full-time in the evenings and won't get home until about 9:30ish.

I wanted to make the transition a little easier so today we went to The Dinosaur Museum and then later we went to Salem Pond to feed the ducks. We had so much fun. Also notice the stuffed porcupine in a lot of the pictures. We got it yesterday when we took her to Cabela's to look at all the animals.

With how well today went with the kids I think I'm going to go do things like this more often. Hopefully a lot of the time they will be free. So if you have any ideas of things that are pretty cheap or free let me know.

Also I can't believe how beautiful Melynn is and how handsome Alex it. They are getting so big and much too quickly.

Sorry some of the pics are a little blurry, I'm still trying to figure out this whole slide thing.
