Hiram

I am so excited right now. Many of you know that my brother-in-law, Hiram is in Afghanistan. I am so excited, about fifteen minutes ago I was able to chat with him online. I guess it is just chance that we happened to be online at the same time. I also want to say that I am so thankful for all of the soldiers serving our beautiful country. Thank you so much, Hiram for all the time you have spent working to keep our country safe and free. We love you and you are always in our prayers.

Saturday Adventure

Every so often we go on a Saturday adventure with Peter's family. The adventure this Saturday was fossil hunting (which often times is). We were supposed to meet them out there only we couldn't find them before they were done. When we did find them we decided to go for a hike. It was pretty fun for Melynn, she got to run around and play in the foot hills of Dog Valley. Without my knowledge Grandpa, Aunt Katie, and Uncles Scott and Eric let her play with dried up cow-pies. At least she didn't eat any.

As for me being 7 months pregnant I get worn out a lot faster than everyone else, so Peter and I were headed back to the car when about 10 feet in front of me a giant raving monster jumped out and scared the day lights out of me. I screamed and by the time Peter had looked the giant raving monster had turned into a little jack rabbit. We both had a good laugh at my expense.

You're Funny Mommy!

The other day I bought a 12 pack of Mt. Dew for Peter while he was working on a lab with a couple other people. Peter was helping me carry in the groceries. I picked up the 12 pack out of the trunk and the end of the box broke open and all the soda fell out. I made a little bit of a squeal. Melynn started laughing hysterically. She would make the noise I made and continue laughing hysterically over and over again. It was so funny. Mostly because she was openly making fun of me. Now she does it all the time.

Family Pictures

Melynn had horrible chicken pox when these were taken but the photographer was nice enough to photo shop them out. If you look close enough you can still see them just a little bit, but I think she did a good job.

Favorite "The Office" Quote

This right now is my favorite Office quote.

Michael: Who knows what the number one cause of death in the U.S. is?
Dwight: Shotgun weddings!
Jim: That's not what that means.

So funny.

Sneaky! Sneaky!

I love this stage that Melynn is in. As trying as she can be sometimes she couldn't be cuter. In this stage I can tell Melynn "no, don't do that" and she knows what I'm saying. When she doesn't listen to me it can be frustrating, but sometimes she is so cute. It's really funny when she knows that she is doing something that she shouldn't, I catch her and she immediately drops what she is doing and runs off like I never saw anything.

Last night we had some friends over and we ordered pizza from Two Jacks. We got half ham and pineapple and half pepperoni and olives. We set the pizza out on a low table for people to help themselves. After about a minute we noticed Melynn paying a lot of attention to the pizza box. We pulled out the camera and captured the following:

Nail Biting!

The other night we noticed that Melynn was chewing on her toe. We could not figure out why. I first thought that it itched so I pulled out the Cortizone, but as soon as I applied it her toe was immediately back in her mouth. Finally we figured out that she thought her toe nails were too long and she was biting them to get them shorter. As soon as we clipped her toe nails she was done. Well...she tried to continue biting them but then figured out that she didn't need to. Although every once in a while she tries to chew my fingernails. Enjoy the video and a couple of pictures.

Here is the video of us figuring out why she was chewing on her toe.

Twilight Movie

For those of you who have seen the movie Twilight. Please don't say anything. We have not seen the movie and even though I have read the books I don't want to know anything about the movie. I am trying to keep an open mind and there might me a chance that I will like the movie. I'm sure that I will say what I think of the movie when I see it. But until then please refrain yourselves from saying anything to us. Thanks.

Peter's Blog

I know that a lot of you like to tag and I'm not big on answering them, but Peter is. He recently answered the tag from Chrissy and Jenna. So check out his blog. Peter's Blog Link. They are all true/false answers. Enjoy...I know I sure did.

The Ultrasound

The doctor had me get an ultrasound and the results were that the baby is just fine. And we are still having a boy. We got some great pictures and you can actually tell what body part is showing, but you'll have to wait until we get the scanner hooked up to see any of the pictures.

Laying on my back during the ultrasound was excruciating. It got to the point that it was so hard to breathe. Having ultrasound tech. push on my tummy made me want to throw up. It was so hot in there that I had to get up mid-way through to get a drink and walk around. They had to finish with me laying on my side, because my breathing was so irregular.

Not to mention Peter couldn't be in there, because of how fussy Melynn was the whole time. So he never got to see any of the ultrasound.

It was also said that I am really about four days further along than I thought, but that's not enough for the doctor to change my due date.

More than a DUCK

The other night Peter and I were in bed and before going to sleep and Peter must have been starting to fall asleep because this was our conversation:

ME: I love you!
Peter: Do you know how much I love you?
Me: How much?
Peter: I love you mooorre than a DUCK!
Me: ...What...That doesn't make sense.
Peter: Ducks don't make sense, Ducks make love.
Me: WHAT?
Peter: Yeah, I don't know.

And we both laughed for like ten minutes. So now when ever we want to add a little extra something when we say those three special words we say "I love you, Duck!"

I thought this story was so funny I just had to share it with all of you. And this isn't the only time this kind of thing has happened. So I'm sure there will be more of these kinds of posts in the future.

Melly and Zeek

Melynn was really enjoying feeding some of her chocolate cereal puffs to Zeek (Peter's family's dog).

This video is kind of on the gross side but she got it into her mouth and swallowed before we could get it out.

This video she loved watching her daddy throw treats to Zeek.

Glucose Test

Well I finally took the Glucose test and the results are that I do not have it. Yea. Go me. I knew that I didn't have it or at least I didn't think so. But it is still nice to know for sure.

Chicken Pox Monster

I took Melynn for some "routine" vaccinations and a flu shot about 12 days ago. Among the array of vaccines she received the MMRV vaccine. When Peter and I and probably most of you were kids we just got the MMR shot (measles, mumps, and Rhubella), but now they have added the V, which stands for chicken pox. Only 5 out of every 100 kids get spots. It's so nice to know that my kid was one of the five. And not to mention we had family pictures today with Peter's extended Family. Needless to say we were thrilled. Below are some pictures our Pox Monster. Enjoy!

These are some pictures of what her back and face looked like yesterday:

There are a few spots on her face, but not many.

And this is what she looks like today:

And we are not so happy to say we are now entering into the itchy stage. FUN!

Happy Birthday!

I know that it's been five days since my birthday, but I wanted to show off my birthday gift. I received 3 things. I feel very spoiled.

Melynn loves the washer too. I think what she likes most is that she can see inside while it runs.

She also loves that she can reach the buttons. Which isn't a problem because there is a child lock, but that doesn't lock the power button and she knows it.

Child of my Heart
Child of the world,
Into my heart you came-
Bringing sun into my life,
Making family our name.

And last but not least...

Thanks Peter and Melly. I love them.

Blog Safety

I know many of you don't check my blog. That's understandable, it did sit dormant for three years until I resurrected it last week. But I just posted an article I wrote on blog safety. I know many of recently saw the article on KSL, and that prompted me to write my piece. I hope you'll all check it out and blog safely without paranoia.

Trig Korbin Richards

For those of you who don't know and would like to know Trig is doing well. On October 21st my Sister-in-law had a beautiful boy named Trig Korbin Richards, he was immediately life-flighted to Primary Childrens Medical Center, Because of a Heart defect called Transposition of Great Arteries (google it for more information). The next Monday he had Open Heart Surgery to correct the problem. He is now healing and doing well. Today he was moved out of the Pediatric ICU (PICU) and my Sister-in-law was able to give him his first bottle and she was able to change her first poopy diaper. Yea, Go Jamie. He shouldn't have lingering effects later in life. Welcome to the world Triggy.

The Bag Lady

Here are a few pictures of our little bag lady. She got one leg hole by herself, dad helped her with the other. The bag still had baby boy clothes in it from Wendi's shopping the day before.

She thinks she quite the big girl when she brushes her own hair.
