One Week Old

Well I can't believe that Alex is a week old already. It seems like just yesterday that I was in the hospital. I was really scared of Peter going back to work and having to take care of two kids alone for the 8 hours while he was at work. I was also worried about how Melynn would adjust to having a little brother and not having all the attention. So far everything has gone a whole lot better than I expected. I still have some hard moments but I just have to push through them. I also have to say thanks to all those who have helped us with the adjustment. Especially you Mom. Thanks for helping me and being willing to come over during your lunch or taking the day off to help me out. I love you!

Day at the Park

Melly has been driving us crazy to go "bye bye" for days, so yesterday we thought it would be nice to take her to play at the park. She had a blast. She had to try out every slide, including the tallest slide in the park. She climbed all the way up to the top all by herself. She got on the slide all by herself and slid down all by herself. To give you a picture of how big the slide was the top was at least ten feet off the ground. We decided that we need to bring her back to the park more often she had so much fun. Here are a some pictures of all the fun she had. I think she's smiling in every picture. I couldn't pick which pictures I wanted to use so I just used them all.

Alex's first trip to the park. I think he had fun.

Stay at home mom

Most of you understand this all too well, but if any of you are wondering why we've dropped off the face of the earth (except for blog updates of course) this describes it perfectly.

Melly's Favorite Animal

On Friday before we checked out of the hospital Melly was with us and was getting tired of being cooped up in the room. So I decided to take her to the cafeteria with me to get some lunch and give Wendi a break. I noticed an enclosed open air garden area, and it was a warm day so we decided to eat outside. Pretty soon Melly started trying to get my attention. I grabbed the camera and caught the following video.

You can order copies of these at this link. Alexander J with our last name as the password. But they're way expensive, we're the parents and we almost didn't buy any.

Well he finally came. Last night at about 12:15 AM Alex was born. He weighs 9 lbs 7 oz, and is 21 inches long. His shoulders got stuck on the way out so he gave us all a scare for a minute, but he's doing well now. He's eating and sleeping and happy.

Induction number 2

It's 1:00 PM and the doctor just broke my water. So it we're committed, one way or another this baby is coming out in the next 24 hours. It feels like I've already lost inches off my waist. Melly is at grandma's and we're excited to get her a brother soon. Maybe we'll update again soon.

Induction Failure

After nine hours of Pitocin and a whole lot of pain I was sent home, because I did not progress at all and I am scheduled to try again Wednesday at 8:00 AM. I guess this baby really is a lazy little bugger.

Please don't call and ask me about it, because although I am okay being sent home part of me is still disappointed that I didn't have a baby. And the further overdue I get the grumpier I get :)

40 Weeks

Well I am officially due tomorrow February 12th and I still haven't had this baby yet. Which kind of sucks because I had Melynn the day before she was due, but I guess this baby is lazy.

Today was my LAST pregnancy appointment. YES! YES! YES! I am dilated to a 2 and my WONDERFUL doctor has scheduled my induction for Friday at 6:00 AM. He told me to call the hospital the night before to make sure that everything is still good to go. So I guess we are going to have a baby either Friday or Saturday. YEA!

Mothers Know Best

Yesterday was my grandma's funeral. It was snowing and before we left home in the morning my mom called to tell me that I should brings some warm clothes for Melynn to wear under her dress when we go to the cemetery and that I should wear some good shoes. I decided that I would wear tennis shoes, but I couldn't find them and thought I would be fine in my flat ballet type shoe.

We were at the cemetery walking back to the car and I'm making fun of my sisters shoe choice (heels) when it's snowy, cold, and wet. When I slip and fall right on my butt. My left leg went out in front of me and my right leg twisted at the knee and my foot was facing behind me. I felt my shin pop. Of course everyone panicked and and scrambled to get me to my feet my leg from the knee down hurt so bad I almost or did cry.

We went home where I changed clothes (I was all wet from the snow) AND my shoes of course I didn't want to hear it for the rest of the day. And we went back to the church for the luncheon. Where my mom told me "I believe I called and told you to wear good shoes". What can I say Mothers know best.

I guess I kind of deserved it didn't I. And also It's only a sprain and It didn't cause me to go into labor (dang it).

In Loving Memory

We love you, Grandma! We will miss you. We cant wait for the day we meet again.

Charlotte Rae Wiesmore

On Friday, February 6, 2009, Charlotte Rae Jones Wiesmore peacefully returned home to a loving Heavenly Father and into the arms of many loved ones who awaited her arrival. Charlotte was born on January 11, 1926 in South Gate, California. As a child, she enjoyed drawing and playing the violin. She attended the same elementary school as a cute boy named Kenneth (who later grew into a very handsome sailor). Years later Charlotte and Kenneth Karl Wiesmore became friends and then sweethearts and were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 3, 1951. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on March 3, 1977.

Ken and Charlotte made homes in Buena Park and West Covina, California where they raised their four children and were baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 20, 1968. They moved for a final time in 1979 when they made their home in Santaquin, Utah.

Charlotte found great passion in family history work. She and her husband served a full-time family history mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from February 1998 through February 2000, in Des Moines, Iowa and St. Paul, Minnesota. She was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and three weeks prior to her death she met her goal of being sworn in as a Daughter of the American Revolution. She solved many family history mysteries from countless hours in front of the microfilm and completed her own personal history book, which she gave to her family this last Christmas.

Charlotte left a grand legacy and will be sorely missed. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. We love you and await the day that we will meet again.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Wiesmore of Santaquin; their four children, Sharon Hunt of Manti, Marge (Bruce) Houser of Santaquin, Ken (Betsy) Wiesmore, Jr. of Twin Falls, Idaho, Carol (Steve) Nielson of Chugwater, Wyoming; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Alice Jones, Weaverville, California. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, all of her five siblings, a great grandson, Korbin Ryder Horton, and the countless ancestors for whom she put temple work into motion.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 10th at 12:00 noon at the Santaquin 13th Ward, 250 South 580 East. Friends may call at the Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin, Monday from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday at the church from 10:45 to 11:45 am. Burial, Salem City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.holladaybrown.com.

Another STUPID Update

NO BABY YET! GRRRR!
Well I'm officially 39 weeks today and for the third week in a row and I have progressed exactly 0%. My doctor made me an appointment for Monday at 9:30 and if I've progressed to a 2 then he will induce me. Maybe even on Monday. So everyone pray for us. I am so done. I am really going to pray I make some kind of progress. I hurt so much, but not as far as contractions go. I just want to be able to pick up my little girl and hold her. I think she wouldn't mind that either. She is very into mom lately and even though all I want is more time with just us and Melynn, I don't want to be pregnant more. Well there's my update not real exciting. I'll let you know IF anything happens.

Hide

All evening Melynn was crawling under the pillows to hide from us. While climbing around she bonked her head pretty hard on the wall. She got a reaction from me so she started hitting her head on the wall on purpose. She must have decided that didn't feel good because she started hitting the wall with her hand and saying ow. Then daddy came in and she just started showing off and it got her laughing.

Melynn wasn't scowling at me. She is actually concentrating.

My Hat

I was getting baby clothes and Melynn wanted to help. She helped by trying on all of the baby's hats. I only got a picture of one.

Our Little Monkey

Melynn is quite the little climber. Every once in a while she stops to see if it's okay with me. That is what she is doing when she stops and looks at me. You can't see that I shook my head yes. After I took this video I caught he standing on the mattress outside of her crib holding holding onto the top bar with one hand like she thought it was cool or something.

Melly and Daddy Playing

Just a cute video of Melly and daddy playing. Enjoy!

Cutie Pie

Today I thought that I would be a good mom and have Melly all dolled up when Peter go home from school/work today. She doesn't usually let me do her hair but amazingly she did today. I guess she wants to look pretty for daddy too. The ribbons only lasted about an hour before she ripped them out.
