Victory

For those of you who aren't familiar with our neighborhood we live on a relatively busy street. We also have a medical clinic right next door. Many of the employees of the clinic park on the street, not because the parking lot is full, but because the walk to the employee entrance is shorter. They park at an angle to the street and when all 20 of them park there it makes it impossible to see oncoming traffic. Back in February or March I saw two minor accidents in as many weeks due to people having to pull out of the clinic blindly. If we leave our parking lot at certain times of the day we also have to pull out blindly.

So after seeing the accidents I decided to do something about it. I spent an hour or so cruising the city website before I found the page to submit a request to change the parking regulations. I filled out the forms requesting that it be painted for parallel parking only and submitted it all. Months passed and I figured nothing was going to happen with it. Last week Wendi even left a note on a car asking them not to park there to make it safer and they have parked elsewhere since.

Today, while I was at work Wendi called all excited. First she told me that our son is going to be a midget, but that's a story for another day. Then she told me that I'd be way excited about something. Check out the photos: (sorry about the quality, I only had my phone camera on me)

Good for you, Peter, to go to the trouble of actually doing something about it! I'm proud of you for doing your civic duty! Maybe you have a future in politics. :)

Wendi, I'm proud of you too for taking the time to put on note on the windshield and warning others of the safety problems.

You rock Peter. Can you get Park View to change their parking lot now. I hate how that send the Kindergarteners. Could you please get on it before Callin turns 5? Your awesome Peter, way to take a stand.
