My Sister-in-Law did a free write. It's where you write whatever you're thinking. So here's mine.
-I'm so glad that Peter gets to come home from work. I need a break from kids. Alex won't sleep and will not let me put him down with out screaming his head off. Melynn won't stop going in a touching Alex and she keeps chewing on the straw of my hospital water cup. It's driving me crazy.
-Alex is still screaming in his swing. I can hear him over the baby monitor.
-I'm really bothered by our landlord. He did kind of a jerky thing if he did it on purpose. Which I don't see any way it couldn't have been. Let me explain. For the last week or so I have been watering a small garden for the downstairs neighbors while they have been out of town. I feel I've been doing a really good job. The plants have doubled in size, so I'm happy until today. I went out to water today and found that the landlords tossed a bunch of camp chairs on to the garden while they mowed the lawn and left them there. They had to have known it was a garden I mean it looks like one. I just hope the plants are okay.
-Melynn hears Alex crying and is concerned because she has gone in to check on him and I think to make things better. And I love that she cares and tries but often times usually makes things worse. But it's the thought, right?
-I love my Mother's day gift. I got flower and pretty pot for our porch. They are so pretty.
-Melynn woke up from her nap today and asked for a specific episode from signing time. The farm episode. She signed farm. I knew that's what she was talking about because I asked her if she wanted to watch the farm one and she said yes. It was so amazing.
-Melynn just walked into the room with a bucket on her head calling it a hat.
-I love my kids. I am so thankful that Heavenly Father entrusted me with their care.
-Alex is still crying. It makes me want to cry.
-On Saturday night Peter went to go check on Melynn and take her sippy cup away from her for the night and he found that she had thrown up and crawled to the bottom of the bed to get out of it and fallen asleep with most of her body down the crack between the bed and the wall. We had to wake her up and give her a bath only to have her throw up again. I had to put her back in the tub. Peter had to take her bedding outside and hose it off while I cleaned and disinfected her mattress. What would have been an early night (11:00) to bed for us turned out to be a very late one (2:00).
-Peter is finally home. YEA!!! I love him so much. He is such a good husband and Father. He works so hard to provide for us. I know he would much rather stay at home with me and the kids than go to work but he does because he loves us.
-Melynn loves Alex so much. She is trying to share and take care of him. Right now she is in the other room trying to share her smarties with him, but she is getting upset because they aren't sticking in his hand. Then she was trying to wipe his chest and diaper area with a wipe to get him clean. The problem is he had a diaper and jammies on.
-Melly just brought me a Now & Later half eaten still in the wrapper. I asked Peter if he gave it to her and his response was "I used to eat them that way. It's not that bad."
-Well I better stop I know this is already too long. I hope you enjoyed reading what was on my mind.

From such a small boy
Alex woke up from his nap about 35 minutes ago. I pulled him out of his swing and right away swelled and felt the wet from his diaper blow out. So I laid him down to assess the situation and the damage to his clothes and came to the conclusion the he needed a bath. I made sure he was safe and telling him "okay don't pee" I left to go fill the tub (making the mistake of leaving him naked). I came back a few minutes later to get him and found a trail of wet on his blanket. I turned to him and said "you peed" upon which he smiled real proudly and I responded "and you're happy about it". With that I picked him up and took him to the bath tub. He was not in the tub one minute before he peed again. Laughing and talking to him I let the water drain all the while I'm sure he was freezing. I filled the tub again (as I so often do with two kids) and went about bathing him. When I was about to take him out of the tub he re-leaved himself one last time. I said to him "good thing your clean" and "I don't know how a person so small could make so much pee in only 20 minutes" and I got him dressed. Now he is dressed, warm, and with a semi-full belly and happy as a clam. I guess that is his way of telling me that he's cold. Cute baby.

Alex in the Tub
The next superman?
What a cutie.
Mom is torturing to poor boy.
All smiles.
How many babies do you know who can fit their whole fist in their mouth?

Duct Tape
I asked the doctor what to do to keep Melynn from taking off her diaper all the time and he said duct tape. It works great, she cannot get them off the only problem is neither can we, but I guess whatever works.

80's Movies Wendi Hasn't Seen
I'm realizing that my wife really missed out on 80's movies. Oh sure she's seen Breakfast Club and 16 Candles, but she missed a lot of good ones. The problem is I tell her that she needs to see these movies and she just doesn't trust my judgment. So I need some backup. If you feel that she is missing a vital part of eighties culture with these movies leave a comment so maybe she'll actually watch some of them.
Goonies
Neverending Story
Willow
Labyrinth
Batteries not Included
Short Circuit
Flight of the Navigator
The Last Starfighter
Stand by Me
Rocky I - IV
...and probably more
If you have a favorite 80's movie, post it in the comments and if Wendi hasn't seen it I'll add it to this list.
