Here are some pictures of Melynn checking out her new bed for the first time. Can you tell that she loves it.

Big Girl Bed
For the last four nights now we've tried Melynn out in a big girl bed. Nights have gone wonderfully, but nap time is still a challenge. She really likes that she can get up in the morning as early as she wants and come wake up mommy and daddy. Yesterday she must have been hungry because she brought me a can of soup and she brought Wendi two packs of ramen. What a choice for breakfast.

Sleep Disorder-ly Conduct
I wrote a paper for my freshman psych class about sleep disorders. I found examples of almost every one within my close family. Well last night Wendi got to experience when happens when you cross sleep deprivation with a genetic propensity for sleep disorders - Sleep Panic! Those of you who have seen the new Adam Sandler movie "Bedtime Stories" will recognize this one, although with less screaming and without the gayest straight guy ever, Russell Brand.
So about 3:00 am last night the primitive beast in my brain kicked me and said, "someone is in your house!" My body was not content to just sit bolt upright in bed, before my consciousness had a chance to start working I was out of bed, across the room, through the hallway, and into the living room looking for someone to knock unconscious. On my way I had turned on every light I could reach. With my heart beating at somewhere around 800 beats per minute I stood there looking for someone to step out from behind the couch and take me on. Thinking back on it for some reason I expected it to be a midget.
As my blood supply dipped below 50% adrenaline I checked the kitchen to make sure no one was there. All normal. Doors - still locked. I warily moved back to the bedroom, checking every room in between. Nothing out of place. Wendi was wide awake now asking what was wrong. I sheepishly replied, "nothing I guess."
If any of you were thinking of breaking into my house for some kind of prank or something you might want to reconsider. When that neanderthal portion of my brain kicks in and says, "Fight or Flight!" now you know what I'll choose. You might find me coming at you in my g's moving so fast I appear to break the laws of physics. Also I keep this under the bed.

Easter
We did Easter a couple days early because of all the craziness of the weekend with Alex's blessing and all. So Melly got to open her's and Alex's presents from the Easter Bunny. Melly got Sponge Bob Jammies and Alex got pop links (Melly thinks they are hers). I've been trying to get pictures of Melynn holding Alex for awhile, but it is so hard. I can never get the camera fast enough before she's ready to get rid of him.

Melynn is always take clothing items off and then putting them back on. Only this time she didn't quite get her shirt on right.

Smiles and Coo's
I read somewhere online that babies find it extremely gratifying when you copy their noises and encourages them to do it more. It really works. Alex talks/coo's a lot.
Alex is such a happy baby. He is always smiling at everyone. He is so close to laughing. I can't believe big he's got in just seven weeks.
Our kids really are our whole world. We love you Melly and Alex.

Back Pack
A couple of days ago my mom gave us a little back pack for us to use at church as a diaper/toys bag. Melynn loves it so much. She has not let it out of her sight. The day she got it on the way home she fell asleep hugging it. It was so cute.

My Baby
For those of you who are wondering how Melynn is doing with Alex. Things are going great. She absolutely love him. Almost too much. She kisses his all the time and always wants to hold him. She is always trying to help, like giving him his binkie (shoving it so hard into his mouth it makes him cry. But not because it hurts because it's upside down). She is such a helpful mini-mom. She is so cute. We love her so much. She is so cute to watch. We were really worried about jealousy but she hasn't really had any. It's been so wonderful. I will add pictures of her attempting to hold him later.

Dinosaur
It's Friday night and just a minute ago Alex, while in the swing started making some really weird noises almost like you were clearing your throat. I asked Peter to check on him and see if he was okay and he responded "He's just turning into a dinosaur, leave him alone." I couldn't help but laugh. Melynn makes gremlin noises and Alex makes dinosaur noises. We could open up a zoo. A weird dinosaur and gremlin zoo. Life wouldn't be quite as interesting without my dorky husband's "Johansen-esque" remarks.

Diapers
Walmart recently discontinued the diapers (White Cloud) that we like and we hate Parents Choice. I was mad for a while but found that Luvs is not much more so we switched to those. Only while Peter was doing research online found out that Walmart has lowered the prices of their other diapers to get you to buy them so when they raise the prices back up you won't think of it as that big a deal. Sneaky dirt bags. If they weren't the cheapest place around I probably wouldn't shop there. I am so mad. The other day I noticed Luvs were $3.00 more at Macey's than Walmart. Beware everyone Satan runs Walmart.
